LITHOGRAPHIC PRINTING
Lithographic printing (or offset) is the traditional commercial printing systems used all over the world for everything from small quantities of business cards to large runs of magazines and catalogues. It works on the principle that water and oil doesn’t mix.

The process requires “wet ink” and specialized printing plates.

Lithographic printing ensures accurate clear impressions with vibrant colours.

Minuteman press mix our own inks for every spot colour job using the international standard pantone system - weighing the ink colours for accurate colour tones.

Minuteman Press are focused on the environmental issues most printing system cause – we use renewable vegetable based oils rather than the traditional crude oil based inks most other printers use.

We have also removed the requirement for chemicals in our plate making systems.

And last but not least we have transferred most of our paper supplies to FSC approved renewable pulp.


DIGITAL PRINTING
One of the fastest growing areas in the business is Digital Printing where artwork is printed directly from the computer to the High Resolution Colour Digital Press.  It provides a very cost effective solution to short-run full colour printing and avoids the scenario where you find yourself left with boxes of out-of-date leaflets which you have had to have printed by the thousand!

Digital printing has the advantage that less time and resources are required for setting up compared to litho printing (ink on paper), but it does have a greater running cost so becomes more expensive for long runs.  However, digital printing is sometimes used for long runs where a fast turnaround is required.

Recent advances in digital technology have meant that it is almost impossible to tell the difference between litho and digital printing, so now it’s all about which is the most cost effective method to use.

We can print on a variety of papers and card, including gloss and silk, and the most popular items for digital printing include leaflets, brochures, folders, postcards, business cards and invitations.  Litho does have the advantage that it can print on heavier weight card but the new digital machines can deal with the majority of card weights. We can also mail merge directly onto leaflets or letterhead and fold the items ready for posting.

Artwork can either be produced in-house by our imaginative designer,  or supplied by you, the customer.  We can accept many formats including, Photoshop, Illustrator, In-design, CorelDRAW, Word, Works, Excel and Publisher.
